Notes

Plain close(2) on a guarded fd raises EXC_GUARD; guarded_close_np is the only legal way to dispose of one. The kernel checks that the supplied guard matches the value installed at creation or by change_fdguard_np before releasing the fd.

Detection

Mismatched-guard close attempts surface as EXC_GUARD; libdispatch's runloop and Foundation file primitives are the dominant legitimate callers.
